So here it goes

This weekend I did:

- New Headlights (you might remember the thread where they were sabatoged)
- I dropped those turbines like the fat kid in dodge ball and picked up some pony's for a decent deal.
- 03 style shift knob with 5-speed pattern (not really anything worth talking about, but since it sees more action than anything else in DD use, Its making me pretty happy)

When mine was black it had a red stripe that I removed. Get a heat gun and slowly bring the surface up to temp, be careful not to get too close to the panel or concentrate on one area for too long, it could potentially burn the paint or deform the ground effects. Anyways, get a corner going and peel it all off as you heat the next portion. Once you are done you may have some glue residue, get some 3M adhesive remover or was and grease remover and wipe it off with a soft cloth.

i had a red stripe on my t top car. i was in school for auto body at the time and we had this, i guess drill bit, that had a big eraser on the end of it. it was that tan-ish color and about the size of a hockey puck except only about 2/3 as thick. man that "erased" that stripe off the entire car in less that 10 minutes! this is pretty much what it was...

here's the pad itself...

Those work too but it is easier to burn the paint with them

yea, I've seen those rubber eraser wheels... they are a little intimdating but Im considering it.

The heat gun deal *seems* like it might work... but my stripe is very brittle and I dont believe its just gonna *peel* off... more like come off in a million tiny little piece... what a PIA.

those erasers wheels are basically safe on anything metal surface. however, be careful on plastic / fiberglass, the eraser wheel can go right through the paint and deform the material. yeah i did that once, to a customer car trying to remove the glue from a fender flare on a durango. luckily in was on the inside so it didnt matter. that was also when i was 14 though lol

like i said, i used the eraser to take the stripe off my car as well as some big black spoiler decal that covered the entire top of my spoiler. i was pressing pretty hard on some spots and i NEVER burnt through anything.
