I need a gear for my 8 inch

  1. As far as I know richmond offers a 3.80 for the ford 8 inch. I have a auburn traction lock unit if you are interested.

  2. Factory II's only came with 2:79's or 3:55's I can't remember if there was a 3:27 'ish gear. Other than that you'd have to go to an aftermarket gear as mentioned above. I do have an open diff. 3:55 complete center pumpkin I'd let go for a 100 bucks + Shipping.

  3. The II 8" was available stock with 2.79, 3.00, 3.20, 3.40, or 3.55 gears, and was available with a Trak/Lok except for (I believe) late 77 and 78 cars. The 3.40 and 3.55 gears were usually only available on 4 cylinder and V6 cars.

I'm in the middle of swapping out the stock 2.79 open diff in the Rat Snake for a set of Richmond Gear 4.10's and a mini-spool...
