Alright so I bought a car off eBay that needs slot more work than I thought. The car seams solid and has all vin stickers on all pieces and no rust..but the car was from Fl. And man all the exterior trim is trashed from sun. The interior needs redoeing. The body paint is soo rough with all kinds of dings. Bumpers are warped. Sigh.. Ive never had a used car on the rough side and I'm a little discouraged. I'm used to new cars I guess that's why I'm depressed. Tell me everything is going to be OK. Lol

You get what you work for,:hail: especially when starting a project on an older car. No rust is key factor, good engine and trans help a lot. Cosmetic work can be done with little money and lot of elbow grease. I have painted several cars in my own garage for $500.00 or less. Not show quality but not bad either. Why disappointed, why did you buy the car and what do you want to do with it? Once you figure that out disappointment should turn to excitment. If it doesn't, sell the car and move on.

Its a high mileage car and runs a little rough. I knew the mileage but he sort of misled me on the function. He also "re-did" the interior but painted almost everything. Lol. I have put some money down on new block to build. And most of the interior parts I can get or redo. Its just a little disapointing but that's what happens with eBay. I guess you're right, the main thing is the solid body. It's just gonna take a while to get it. Anyone have pics of before and after on a rough car? That may help my deppresion lol

Heres some before and after of my SVO. It was stripped to bare metal and all the rust was cut out and had new metal welded in. Literally everything on this car is new.

Look for a man holding a sign while standing near a busy road. The sign will read "Will do bodywork and paint cars for food". Thanks to the efforts of our current president and congress, there should be one in a large metropolitan area near you...

Agreed. I am good friends with the guy who painted my car. His shop has been family owned for decades and they have been struggling since Obama went into office. My buddy has been getting ready to head back to school to get into a different career field due to all the crap going on.

Well, since I feel a little bad for my smart A$$ post, I guess I'll add a little REAL encouragement....lol.
This is how I received my car after I dropped it off to a "friend of a friend" for a new paint job. The car was left outside with a tarp over it, with no windows, no sunroof, and somehow magically got jammed in between gears. Needless to say I took to car back and was not happy....at all. Dropped it off to a reputable painter and was happy with the results.

As long as it isn't full of bondo, cancer, and all twisted up from abuse. Then you can fix it. These cars usually need a lot of love as they often have hard lives.
