My brother was hit a little while bcak and the insurance guy came to take pictures today. His car was marked with a magnetic sign with the name of the company, as well as the caller i.d. stating the company name. We didnt hardly pay much attention to the guy, just let him do his deal and talked to him when he asked. I went inside and then came out and he was in his car, when i went in prior he was taking pictures. This was maybe 2 minute/3 minute period. Once i came out and he was in the car for a moment he came out asking what I was building. I told him that I was building a box for my stereo. He was like, oh well thats cool and all that. He then said he was finished with his job and needed to speak with my brother, so i got him. He took off and havent seen my keys since i went out to work on my box this morning. I have turned my garage upside down, and I have searched every where I went this morning. I can't believe this is happening and I have work in an hour and I want to call in and tell them im having family problems and have lost my keys. I wish this wasnt happening!

Ouch man.. Id call the insurance company and get a report in, and make sure this guy was legit and not someone trying to scam you and steal a new car! If he is legit, they can maybe atleast tell you how to get in touch with him etc.

Do you not have a spare key or the valet key so you can atleast get to work and back?

yes, i have my back up key so i ca get around. the insurance guy says he does not have them. this means i must tear apart my newly built subwoofer box and false floor to see if my keys are possibly in the spare tire well, as maybe i dropped them.

which brings me to this question, does ANYONE have a decent sized box in their mustang yet?

well, i built inside my trunk. its 5.275 cubes before any displacement. 20 deep x 38 wide x 15 high. but its not logical nor whats the word.......bleh, good lol. i cant get my spare tire out, i cant do anything with my trunk LOL im looking to fiber glass it in, instead. but i HATE glassing because of the mess it makes, but i guess ill have to deal with it to have a good setup.

red05 - Ive had subs in my car since back in March. Dont bother planning on getting a prebuilt box of any size in there. Its not gonna happen. You are going to have to do two seperate boxers and corner them out, then deal with them being slightly out of phase forever, or build the box in the car. I had 2 15" JL 15w6s in a high output wedge and couldnt get it in the trunk any which way I tried. I sacrificed my back seat, and put them there. The sound is -so- much better than it is from the trunk. Plus I really love the way it looks. Its not practicle, but atleast Im not always having to give people rides :) I blew the subs and have 2 12" Punchs in right now, and though they would fit in the trunk, I love the sound so much more from the backseat. Its clearer, louder, and sets a much better front stage than anything Ive heard from the trunk. Doesnt rattle nearly as bad either. Anyway, if you need help let me know, Ive got alot of experience doing sound systems and limited experience building boxes.

PS anyone know what our alternators rated at? Its not big enough.

i have the equipment i want. well atleast its on the way. im running 2 alpine type r 12's. the box im building will be in trunk, and will most likely be glassed as i've done little projects and want to do something a tad bit bigger. my only deal being that the trunk isnt the same on both sides for whatever reason, meaning with two seperate boxes they are not exactly the same size. then again up to .25 cubes usually has no effect. i thought about doing something in my backseat, but thats not hardly feasable right now i dont believe. i dont think anything over 2.5 cubes sealed would fit through either opening to the trunk, and...to me thats retarded to put it plain and simple. fiberglass starts this weekend : )

i believe i read it s a 100 amp alt. by the way. should be good for a tru 1000 watts plus all ur little accessories depeing how efficient it is. but i have a 1200 watt dummy load amp on it right now, but at ohms, its only giving the car about 600-700 after impedence rise. it will be 1 ohm soon, id say 900-1000 after physics does it things.

PS. never did i think a prefab box would fit. it IS a mustang. i was building 5.275 cubes ported at 35 IN the trunk. its rediculous how huge these trunks are, yet so small.
