I took my last test before finals yesterday afternoon, so what a better idea than to head out to get a few runs. It was pretty spur of the moment and i just took off by myself. There was almost no one at the track and i was the #4 car.

Traction was a major issue. every pass was either a weak bog or if i gave it any gas at all I was rewarded with severe tire spin. Either way I got a new best and was very happy to run consistant 12s. I really went to test out where i was after the fox TB swap. I am not one to go by SOTP and i didnt know if i had actually slowed down or sped up.

I still wish i knew where i was making power to so i could better set my 3rd and 4th shift points. My 1/8 mph is insane compared to the 1/4. icant believe the car went 87!. My 12.9 at 103 i was racing my buddy and looking back and kinda just spaced out up top.

Imagine what you'd if you were to slap on a set of aluminum heads.

BTW...something is messed up with your 1/8th mile on the slips. On your fastest pass you go 82mph, then on others you go 86 and 87??? Weird. FYI---I've made over 50 passes on my car since my H/C/I and I'd say 90% of them were in the 107-109mph...and out of all of those, I trapped 87mph ONCE. My best mph of 110 was on a 86.5mph pass or thereabouts.
 
Congrats! I still have NO idea how in the hell you get the 1/8th mile MPH you do... it totally baffles me. I know gearing and weight play a BIG part in 1/8th mile times, but holy heck... 87mph!?!? I'm lucky to trap 87-88 on a good pass and my best ever was 89mph. I have noticed in my car if I run too much timing I will have a killer 1/8th mile MPH but I won't pick it up on the top... maybe that's soemthing to look at in your case.
 
prolly has something to do with those stock heads flow running out on top end where you are in one gear longer...................

thats exactly what i was talking about.

i ran consistant 86 mph all night and on that pass 82. which is low for me.
It probably had to do with a slower 1-2 shift than normal :shrug:

i am at 13 degrees of timing and I have no idea what is slowing it down up top. I gues it is just the heads.
 
Nice times... and I have to say my car is like yours, I trap very high in the 1.8 for my 1/4 traps. Now yours is higher than mine, Im right around 86 mph, but I wont go more than 106.5 in the 1/4. Maybe its the stock heads, they seem to die off on the top end, but pull great down low! Time to get those 60's down and run some 12.5s-12.6s!
 
heads are going on before the 60 foots do. the tires are showing cords and i just light the crap out of them through 1st

next time out at the track will probably be with P heads Long tubes and on drag radials.

so i will probably run a 12.8 :lol:
 
on drag radials its 13.0-1s cause of a bad case of wheel hop with the new suspension. with stock suspension it would have gone 12.90s on DRs

these are un massaged e7s. no porting

going back on drag radials i predict me wheel hopping to a low 1.9 60 foot and probably running about a 12.8 at 110 the first time out.

or i could just slap on my new et drags and launch at 6k and go for broke :)

If you wanna end up on the back of a tow-truck, I'd suggest doing that. :D

What's the ride like with the drag coilovers up front?

Damn impressive times. I can't wait to see what it'll be like with a "decent" set of cylinder heads.
