anybody else think the same? i'm sure it'll never happen, but everyone loves to dream. even if i won 10's of millions of dollars, i'd never ditch my car. sure i'd buy a dream car, but i'd also put a ton of $$$ back into my 5.0 and make it into a sick DD... complete restoration, TT, everything i could thow at it, and keep it looking near stock. anyone else ever think this???
Why would ANYONE with millions daily drive a fox. I might have one that was done to the hills but it would not be a daily driver only a toy car to play with on weekends.
I wouldn't DD it, but I would still own it. I would keep it stock/put it back to stock though and buy a black on black notch to build. I would keep mine just because it was my first car and give it to a future ex-wife or kid.
I'd be driving a Super Snake daily, the fox would be kept for weekend duty with a t70 331 combo. Then I'd hae a notch for a drag car and an lx hatch for an open track car. I've thought about this way too much
Nah if/when I'm rich, I might own a Mustang or two, but you better believe a bunch of better cars would be in the garage. Why just own Mustangs when you can have everything and anything!
i would drive mine alright right to a BMW or Aston Martin dealership and get a comp. spec M3 or a Vanquish
Classic. If I were like Leno rich, I'd have a shop full of guys constantly working on stuff just like he has. One day, you might be driving an 800 hp festiva; the next, you may be driving a Delorean on a K-5 blazer chassis or something. Would definitely keep life interesting...........
Aaaaah Leno. Lucky b@stard. I'd keep my hatch in it's current state to remind me of before I was a millionnaire and go to town on the Notch. TT, mm full suspension everything...
screw that my tranny is crap in my reg. GT I don't understand more horsepower in front of the same junk driveline
Yep, same here. I'd be driving the Super Snake while the GT was being COMPLETELY dissassembled, restored, and put back together. The only difference is that my GT would be sporting a professionally race installed/tuned suspension for the street. I'd buy and test fit at least a dozen different exhaust setups and have Chip Foose or someone install each and start it up so that I could hear it before making my decision. hehehe
lol i ditched my stock driveline even before I did a single thing to the motor...so I was driving around with about 190rwhp in front of a TKO 600 and full 31 spline rear with an auburn and 4.10s...
I'd definitely have a done up fox...but it probably wouldnt be the one im driving now. It would most certainly start as a LOW mileage stocker. The DD would definitely be something german...no question. Im thinkin the new M3 would be nice now that it finally has a V8. Although that wouldnt go unmodded either.... Who hasnt thought about this too much.
haha. Hell yea id have a few built up foxes and a nice small house with a ton of land and like a 10,000 square foot garage for all the sick cars id buy
id buy an 03 cobra and promptly remove the drivetrain, interior and suspension and put it in my fox. then let some body guy have his way with it. (body work isnt my thing...too much dust and fumes for ****ty lungs) i probably wouldnt DD it tho. but i would drive it as much as possible. i think id get another 03 cobra to daily drive and have the same body guy do a matching paint scheme on it.
That would be like a dream come true for most of us here. Both of my cars would be pretty much rebuilt from the ground up. lol I wouldn't be driving them every day but they would definitley be "street cars" first. My '90 would be like my ultimate toy, with focus on a road racing type set-up. I wouldn't be happy until I was seeing at least C6 Z06 types numbers (in all aspects). I just want an all-around monster but not a stripped down GT Racer. I like the 03 Cobra drivetrain idea. Out of curiousity, how much does the engine weigh, compared to our 302? The '92 would get the full "all-original" treatment. However, it would have what I consider to be "necessary" drivertain upgrades: brakes, tranny, suspension. I'd like to have it as factory as possible but I'm not trying to build a collector car here. lol As for my new daily driver. Tough to say. I like the new M5s. Ah well, back to the real world.
Y'know, I can totally see the logic behind DD'ing a Fox, even if you were filthy-rich. It's simple. If you were a car thief, or a punk that just likes to vandalize people's cars, which of the following would you find to be a more appealing target: a brand-new Ferrari, a Lamborghini Countach, a prototype Bugatti, a classic late 60's Porsche 911 ... or a 20-year-old Fox Mustang? Seriously, I'm not sure if I would even be able to stomach owning a Ford GT or anything of the like, simply because I'd be afraid to take it anywhere. I'd live in constant paranoia that some idiot Mexican without a license or insurance would pull out in front of me and wreck it, or some blind/deaf/dumb old snowbird would back into it in a parking lot, or some straight-up douchebag would run a key all the way up one side of the paint and/or kick in a tail lamp lens just because it was there. You cannot, I repeat, YOU CANNOT ever own something nice in this world without some butthole out there wanting to steal or destroy it. Just a simple fact ... because humanity sucks. That being said, I'd rather just fix everything that needs fixin' on my GT, maybe throw on a mild H/C/I combo on it (GT40 heads/intake and a B- or E-cam), beef up the suspension, mayyyyyybe give it a Maaco paintjob, and then drive the hell out of it. Of course, being filthy rich, I wouldn't be content with just one Fox - I'd have a four-car stable of 'em with a 'vert, notch, LX hatch, and GT - but I wouldn't go hog-wild with any of them. Just being able to afford gas and repairs for them indefinitely would be enough to keep me happy for the rest of my years.
If I won the lottery my stang would be dropped like a bad habbit. As it is now I have it listed for sale on a few local sites. I just want a nice daily driver, I could care less about low 11 second potential.
