if Rousch unveils on 9-1-04 shouldn't we have hard specs for a stock 05 from FORD?

I was just wondering, if Rousch unveils its version, on Sept 1, 04. I am going to assume a supercharged version, that Rousch will release hp and tq specs. Well unless Ford releases hard specs for hp and tq for the 05 we are going to have to get our base specs from Rousch.. I know, I know Ford says 300hp and 320 tq, but we have all see and heard on the board about people saying it is underrated power. Well if that is true, I would think that Rousch version would show us how much our stang would really have.

Has Ford ever officially announced the power figures for an engine that was underrated? I have heard many people say the 03 Cobra was underrated. And yet we still have not had a change in the hp ratings for them.

When I was at the 40th anniversary celebration in Nashville, I talked with a Rousch representative for a while. I was disappointed when he said they would not build another supercharged Mustang due to the high costs associated with developing, testing, and certifying the car. I don't recall the exact figures but it almost seemed cost prohibitive. I don't think he'd have any reason to give out false information, but I guess we'll find out the truth when the cover is lifted off the their car on Sep 1.

The talk of underrated power is pure speculation.

I loved the supercharged Rousch but it was a bad idea. it costs like 45k. Why bother? save yourself 10k and buy a Cobra. There's still a Rousch sitting at a dealership from over a year ago.

There's a 380R that's been on the lot for over a year and the dealership is willing to make a very good deal on it. I was talking to them about getting it for about $27,000. It was marked $45,000. There are also two Saleens at a different Ford that have been there unsold since 2003. I am wondering what kind of deals they are willing to make :D

And the thing about the Cobra is that it is faster then either the Roush or the Saleen, is cheaper, has IRS, a six speed, and a nicer interior. The only reason I can see ever getting a Roush or a Saleen is when the dealerships are willing to make good deals on them like they are now.
