Whats needed to go 11.99 with stock IRS, boost, 6-spd? Is it possible?

I have seen many 03/04 Cobras go deep into the 11's (11.6's) on stock boost. However, a recurring theme seems to be a live axle, or an Auto Trans of some sort (C-4,etc.) So I would like to know who has broken into the 11's on the IRS, stock 6-spd, and stock boost? If nobody has done it, is it possible, and if so, what would it take, staying within the stock parameters I set?

Obviously, all the basic bolt-ons are assumed (CAI, mid-pipe, exhaust, shifter & clutch quad for those powershifts)

Aftermarket halfshafts are OK, and are probably going to be necessary to get a stock boosted Cobra into the 11's right? Probably gonna need some 3.73's, maybe 3.90's. Going to need a good light set of Bigs and Skinnies and ET Streets. How about subframe connectors, drag shocks and struts?

Most importantly is weight reduction. Gonna need to shed as many pounds as possible....light racing seats, rear seat delete, lose spare & jack.

With all this done, are 11's possible on IRS, stock boost, and stock 6-spd?
Oh yeah, gonna need an MJ/Billetflow IRS brace to hold the dam thing together and some pretty cold air

Wow, you went waaaaay outta the box bro...to hit 11's I would recomment the following:

    CAI
    Chip (tuned)
    Pulley
    Exhaust/ & O/R X-pipe
    Short-throw
DR's (drag radials) or ET Streets

Now I know you said stock boost, but the added pulley/idlers along w/ a great tune will put you in the 11's all day (considering you can drive well).....Or you can always spray alittle bit (30-75 shot) and call it a day....Of course all the other stuff you mentioned is gravy, but I dont think its really "neccessary" to hit 11's....Hope this helps ya out-----JT

Ah... JT... Read his post again, he really wants to run 11's with STOCK BOOST, T-56, and IRS. This guy is a man after my own heart! So many 03/04 Cobra owners are quick to jump on the smaller pulley/N2O bandwagon. Glad to see there are others out there who want to push the stock combo as far as possible!

Your list of mods EIU88GT is more than enough to get the car into the high 11's. What you need is good traction (a.k.a. a good 60' time) and some great air. I was able to run a 12.5 with just an X-pipe, cat-back, and CAI on the stock F1's with a 1.9 60' and at a weight of 3915lbs! The DA that day was awesome which helped a lot.

I think some stronger rear axles for the IRS are a must along with anti-hop shocks, 3.90 gears, a Billetflow girdle, and poly bushings. That combo should allow for some low 60' times. The 3.90's will put you almost at readline in 4th when you roll through the traps.

Taking a few pounds out of the beast will help, but you don't have a lot of choices as far as weight reduction goes if you're leaving the IRS in. Rear seat delete would be one option, a tubular K-member would be another. Move the battery to the trunk would help some with weight transfer. Of course some lightweight rims with Slicks & Skinnies would also be in order.

All that coupled with a full exhaust, CAI, TB, clutch quadrant, shifter, and good cool air should get you in the upper 11's.

    U.M.
