Puz- I do have a MAC cold air kit, I have a 1" intake spacer, and I've tuned the fuel and timing to where I believe the best settings are. Apparently people aren't getting that I want to hit 300 without porting. I can't take the motor apart.

Well I guess the only way you are gonna get there is a lot of tuning, and that isn't gonna make up about 40rwhp. You are pretty much maxed out on your setup with out Tearing into the motor. Otherwise, cobra motors (or explorer motors)would be 300 RWHP motors from the factory.

The longtubes might give you a max of 10rwhp (doubtfull)
The synthtic fluids might net you a max of 5hp
You might get a 5hp gain from the electric fan

You already have an aluminum d/s and the fan is on the way. You already have all the other boltons that are required to get there. A cam swap might be the best et for the combo, but that would involve tearing into the motor. You have a great setup. The quest for power and speed will always be there, but if it runs good, driveabilty is good, and if emissions are ok, then be happy with what you have. Those are very respectable numbers for what you have. Think about it, you basically have an explorer motor with a cam that runs (assuming) pretty well. Good luck in your quet for power.

Since your maxxed out your combo your next step would be to invest into learning and tweaking your combo. You can get a wideband O2 reader and a PMS or Tweecer system. Then you can change little things around like rocker combos and fuel, timing settings. Control over your engine will be right at your fingertips. You could make a separate program for higher octane fuel with more timing and pick more power up that way. There are alot of possibilities if you want to go that route. Plus you are educating yourself and setting the car up better for future mods.

Yeah, an A9L and Tweecer are on the drawing boards, but those things are really expensive. Main appeal to me is that if I go get a dyno tune, and then later change my combo, I don't have to pay for a new chip. I can just reprogram the tweecer.
