Okay,
Here we go!
I removed my 3.55 gears from a 94 Gt with an 8.8 rear and put in some 4.10's. The problem i am having is I can not remove the slap from the pinion.
There was not any shims behind the 3.55's that i took out. Should there have been any shims behind the pinion bearing? or is there a washer between pinion nut & copanion flange?

Any help would be nice! She is setting on Jacks right now !!!!!

both gear installations I have done had shims. This sets the pinion depth. Typical install is to cary over the shims. I believe this is due to the variations in houshing bore.

There should me no "in-n-out" slop on the pinion. Or at least it should be inperceivable. Have you got it set to the correct pre-load. I bet you don't have the crush sleeve crushed (and always use a new sleeve). Its a bear....takes huge torque to crush the sleave. I believe preload drag is 19 in-lb for new pinion bearing and 25 in-lb for used bearings.
