Ok, I am swapping in a 5.4 2v using intake adapter plates, my car had a Dorman intake already so I reused it.
Noticed the intake has o ring seals molded into it, is it necessary to use a gasket also between it and the plates? On top of the o ring?

Reason I ask is this, I put it together with gaskets and now it leaks.

Also are intake bolts tty or anything stupid like that?

Dorman intakes have the O-ring seals molded in. My directions stated not to use intake gaskets (yeah, I bought a Dorman, duh, next time Ford OEM). IIRC, I had to do a careful 3-stage torque procedure, following the Dorman instructions. I used a "torque beam" torque wrench rather than a "click-style" torque wrench. No leaks, yet. But a tip for ya - make sure the vacuum hose from the back of the throttle body is secure and connected to its other end over by the passenger side valve cover. Don't ask me how I know this... HTH
