Interior lighting

Has anyone replaced their maplight/interiorlight bulbs with colored ones? I always see colored lightbulbs at autozone, etc. but never thought about it. Would they fit/work in the interior bulb sockets? I think it'd be cool to have a blue glow inside your car when you open the door rather then just the normal "white" light.

thats what i did to my car i got all blue lights in all my light sockets in my mustang so i know it will work

i tried to do red in my jeep, but the color coating on the bulb burnt off, so i just covered the lens with red nailpolish

what type of light bulb is needed? like what watt, and what size is needed to fit into the socket?
