Has anyone tried to put a IRS out of a Cougar in a 5.0? The only reason i'm contemplating it is that I have a Cougar I picked up that was front end damaged for $10, was gonna originally use the disc brakes from the rear on the 7.5 from the Stang.

A guy on this forum has the newer 03 or so Cobra IRS setup on his fox.. pretty sweet

I have heard of the t-bird setup in a mustang, and the cougar should be the same. It can be done but I don't know how.

You cant swap a rear from an MN12 to a fox.

Funny, I just talked to a guy this weekend who said he can swap an 03 Cobra suspension into a fox, brakes included. Just outside my budget, though.

Buy the cobra suspension, do it yourself. It is not too difficult and IRS's can be had for fairly cheap.

The Cobra swap is almost a bolt in, I have one in my '86 coupe. The mn12 stuff won't fit at all unless you're a pretty good fabricator. I've heard of the swap being done back when the mn12 platform first came out, but it took alot of work and fabrication.
