Is $400 fair for a 5-lug conversion kit ready for all rims?

I'm thinking about putting together a brake kit that would be very cheap and swap right out with stock 97-93 brakes. It would use ranger axles, drums, and lincoln rotors, but the kit would include the longer studs installed and spacers needed to use any rim availabe. The kit would also include all front and rear bearings and seals, and rear end gasket. Now I know its no SN95 brake kit or cobra kit, but there are alot of guys that would likt to run all the greats rims but cant afford it. This kit would allow you to run all cobras and bullits and what not. Its a good deal because most places charge $399 and a handling fee, but the kit doesnt work with all rims.

Does it include spacers for the rear? Otherwise your front wheels are going to be sitting 2" wider than your rears...and yeah its noticable.

The thing with spacers is it's pretty tight up front in terms of room that you can move the front wheel out. If your car is lowered you will hit the fender lip. My wheel right now barely misses and it's stock offset.

Now try to turn the wheel. SInce it's sitting about 1" out it has a longer radius and you will rub more, especially on the rear of the fenders.

Sure you can mount the new wheels and tires, but will the wheel actually FIT in the wheelwell now??

Good luck finding a new disc brake kit for $400, and that 50resto kit doesnt allow the use of ALL rims because it doesnt come with the spacers or needed studs.

    Any rim? BS

Any 9" rim will stick so far out it is not funny! Plus have rubbing issues like mad.

Do it right, you dont want the liability of spacers and studs breaking.

Stop pissing me off Matt, I've posted before that any 8 in the front and up to 10 in the back. Sorry I forgot it this time. Tell you what, I'll drive my car to your fugging house if you want. Stop ruining it for everyone. just because its not what you want, doesnt mean it doesnt work. Hey, look, I'm looking outside at my car right now. Oh, there it is, those perfectly lined up 8 inch cobra 99 rims that dont stick out too far. 9 inch rims look like sheet even with good brakes. Nobody needs 275s in the front. Your really getting on my nerves. I'll pitch this kit all day long because I know it works. Why dont you obsess about someother part on the mustang.

Oh yeah I really see solid inch think aluminum pressed between 2 solid metals and 3 inch forged moroso drag studs with a thicker knurl than stock breaking. They are the same studs required to drag race, but what does the NHRA know huh?

    not so bad deal

The 50 resto deal is not so bad when you consider that ford wants $315.00 per axel for the 94 w5x114.3 backspacing fitment! You can always go to a disc setup later on! And for the rest of you guys, Don't worry be happy! :p

Basically a standard GT/Lincoln front rotor will allow you to use any V6 or GT rim. If you use a 7/8th spacers you can use any rim. The rear drums will allow any rim also. You should not have any problems with your welds and this kit.

is 28 spline all that bad anyway? if you wanted to switch to a 31 spline axle would you have to change the diff too?

well your traction devise that your axles slide into would need to have the same spline as your axles. Whether locker, traclok, posi, or whatever. It really raises the price on things to change spline count since you need different axles, then a different carrier which means you either need to upgrade gears at that time or transfer your gear from the old to the new and then reshim everything since its a different carrier. Get a truck posi carrier for like $100 and get the 31 spline axles and transfer the gear over. the price comes from having a shop do all that for you since the gear is a **** to get off and you have to shim everything with a kit. If you keep the 28 spline and just go to a stronger axle then you can do it yourself in the driveway in about an hour or two. It all depends on your power levels but I dont see why a rebuilt rearend with stronger axles wouldnt hold 400 to the wheels. Its the axles themselves that break, not really the spline always.
