I own a 96 gt. I had a question to anyone that may know the answere. When I floor the gas pedal, my RPM's go up real quick but the car doesnt seen to go as fast as the RPM's go up, and then they come back down and gradually go up as I increase my speed. There is also a nocking noise coming from where the transmission meets the engine. Personally, i think its the transmission. Can anyone help me?

Sounds like a clutch thats slipping real bad. Shouldn't be near the cost of a new tranny though so that will probably relief you :). Always good time to upgrade to a better clutch so you can put on some more power goodies! :nice:

You failed to specify if you have a 5spd or an automatic. If you have a five speed, Ide look into what Kirkyg said. It probably is a slipping clutch. If its an auto, then the torque converter and line pressure feed is the likely suspects.
