Is this a 289 or 302

I have looked everywhere for this block code and cannot find it anywhere.The motor is in a '73 ford pick-up and the numbers behind the starter are EOAE-D5C and just below that is 18 and 4D3O the base of the dizzy is in line with the base of the intake so I know it's not a windsor. It has 6 bellhousing bolts. The stamped code just below the driver side head on the front of the block is 2180. I am stumped thanks

that is an 80s casting number, 60s start with a c 70s with a d so it looks like its a 1980 302

68 was the last 289

Even in '68 you could get a 302 alongside the the 289. The only difference then was the rotating assembly.

E0AE is a 1980 casting number, so my money is on 302.

if you really want to find out (however, like everyone else said, too new for 289), pull the rocker covers. There should be a 289 or 302 stamped in the iron. There is the same thing on the lifter valley if you pull the intake.

That's assuming the heads haven't been replaced nor the 289 rotating assembly put into a 302 block.

If the block has EO cast in it its clearly not a 289!
