I went to a junkyard down the road to look for a 351w, and I found a couple possible winners so I thought I would come here to double check myself...

The first two I found were in 60ish Ford F-Trucks. They had the 9" between the intake bolts and a 9.5" deck height; however, they had 5 bolt valve covers.

The next one I found was in a Ford LTD... everything matched up. Only thing I don't like about pulling this engine is that its hood and intake are missing so I have no idea how long the block has been exposed to the weather.

Would there be any difference between the blocks or are the valve cover bolt patterns strictly based on the heads?

Any input would be great. I want to make sure I do it right the first time! Thanks.

P.S. Mind you, all these measurements were taken with the engine still in the vehicles.
