heres the deal i just had my stangs front end painted, bumper, fenders, fiberlglass Cervinis Cowl and then blended into both doors, i took the car home Saturday and looked great. Stored the car in the garage and took it out Sunday afternoon and noticed some very fine scratches, almost as thin as a strand of hair. Easy to notice on a red car and seeing white lines. So today <mon> i take the car out of the garage and notice more of them. I took the car back to the paint shop and showed him. he said he will paint the hood over again, said he didnt notice the lines/scratches on Saturday.

What do you guys think? was the hood not prepped correctly, i only drove the car about 1/2 mile from the body shop to my house and into the garage. This is a very good professional body shop well recommened. Any ideas of suggestions?

If there willing to fix the problem I wouldn't worry to much about it. As you mentioned in your thread they are a good shop. You can easily get hair line scratches on your clear coat when you wash and dry your car. Not using proper techniques and materials can be the cause of many hair line scratches. The body shop might have washed the car before you arrived and dryed it with a towel which could have created the problem. Good luck...

maybe he just didn't buff it (after wetsanding it) as well as he should have. i wetsanded my hood after i painted it to get some little spots out, and i didn't buff it as long as i should have. i saw all those hair-line scratches out in the sun, (and pretty much ONLY when it was out in the sun), so now i have to buff it again and polish it. but if he is willing to fix it, then i wouldn't worry about it.

Mine has the same thing. Im sure yours isn't nearly as bad as mine. Mines a joke. Whoever painted it must've been drunk. I've tried swirl remover, everything. It just makes it worse! :(
