Key turns and stops on last click.

Posting this for my brother:

I've got a 93 lx, and i removed the dash and put it back in (messing with a dash swap). After putting it back in, the ignition doesn't work right. The key will turn all the way except the last click. Is this probably an internal problem that just coincidentally surfaced after i did the dash swap, or could it be that it was put back in wrong? Everything seems to be in right....
Also, is there anywhere that i can order a new ignition unit to replace the one currently on the column (direct replacement, not wanting to put it in the console or anything..) or maybe a new steering column? Thanks a lot,

There is a recall on the ignition switch for Mustangs. It's a freebe, done by the dealer. The ignition switch overheads and burns up, taking out the column and sometimes the car interior. Have you VIN number handy and call the local Ford dealer. This may be related to your problem.
