lifters and cam question

First question is, with the lifters they have a hole on one side. Does it matter which way the hole goes when you put the lifters in? Secondly, with the cam cover, what should you torque those two bolts too? Thanks!

The lifters don't matter.

The cam thrust plate (I hope that's what you're talking about) needs to be torqued to 108-144 in-lbs. The cam bolt 40-45 ft-lbs.

Notice he said the thrust plate is in inch/pounds, not foot pounds. Hate to see you break a bolt there.

BTW, I noticed the hole on the lifters too while I was dissassembling. So I looked closely at which direction the lifters were installed with that hole. Stock was totally random. So I think it makes no difference.

The bolt that holds the timing sprocket to the cam, I think that's what it's called.
