I finially started this long awaited. I just started working on my M-112 Lightining blower project for my 87 GT. Here are some pics of the plenum I am fabricating. I also have drawings of the lower intake to blower adapter I am going to machine. I will do that when I am done with the plenum. I know I need to put a hole in the hood (no big deal). I will also make my own Mass Air meter tubing to TB as well. My goal is to have this done by June. So far I have only a few hours into the upper plenum. However I have many hours in measuring and drawing for the GT-40 lower. I also have to make a jack shaft assembly for the pulley arragement I am going to fabricate.

Update. Machined lower blower adapter plate that will be TIG welded to upper plenum. Also smoothed out the welds as well. I left the adapter plate hanging in the back so as to mount gauges and my nitrous solenoid. Notice the upper box is smoothed out compared to the previous pics. Also not the nitrous fan spray nozzle in the plates I make. I next have to machine the vacuum fittings and weld them in before I can weld it all up and be done with it.

    Very cool.
Did you decide to go this route to build a fast car on a budget? or just to build something that no one else has?

I dunno how the fuel injectors will fit, i dunno how it will mount to the intake...

looks goodut damn... u need a 8"+cowl hood!

I would have went with a 03 cobra blower, much easier.

I never said I was running a cowl hood. I am going to put a hole in the hood. I have a friend who owns a bodyshop and he has some cool drawings already. As far as the injectors fitting, it will be not problem. I am machining an adpater plate for the Gt-40 lower to blower base. Will post pics soon of more progress when I get to it.

Another update. I machined vacuum fittings from hex stock, tapped them for 1/4 NPT and then tacked them to the upper plenum. I will full TIG weld them from the inside. Pics.

Wish I had the machines and the skill as you..

Can you make me an intercooler... I got 3 dsm cores.

PM me with pricing and details.

It is for twin turbo application, so (2) 2 1/4" IN, and (1) 3" OUT.

    THANKS!

pretty ballsie project. I love to see this kind of hardcore fabrication. This thing is gonna be as high as the roof line. You're gonna need a passenger with you to navigate right hand turns! Maybe you could call it Frankinstang? Keep us updated.

As far as "looks" goes, it sure cain't look any worse than a sbc with a 471 (much less a 671).

A few questions...Have you considered using a lower profile throttle body?
About the drive, is the blower sittin' close to where it needs to be in relation to the engine?

One suggestion...as far as a jackshaft pulley goes, have you shopped around? Take a look at Super Coupe Innovations in Canada, he has an aluminum jackshaft pulley made for our SC's that that might be right up your alley.

Lookin' forward to more progress pics,

There will be when I machine an adapter plate. Anyway the snout on these are semetrical, so I can flip it if need be.
