One of the few bitches I have is the lack of either paddle shifters or a manual way to run up and down the gears like I have on my 03 X-Type Jaguar. The J-Gate on that trans is a joy to use.
I am very impressed the power this car has, MUCH more than my Jag. However, although it handles great, the Jag feels more stable and smooth on rough roads because of the independent rear as opposed to the live rear on the Stang.
I am also very impressed with how quiet the car is, I never expected a convertible to be so tight. I hope that I will be saying the same thing 3 years from now
Gas mileage seems to be about 19 mpg with heavy doses of stop & go with a bit of highway. I have not done a highway run to see how that is. I think the active bar chart gauge instead of an actual mileage read out is just plain stupid and useless, it would have not cost Ford any additional money to have the gauge display a mileage figure instead of the bars.
I love the Sync navigation that works with my EVO 4G phone.
One thing I dislike intensely is the speedometer, it is great for the retro look but sucks for telling you how fast you are going, very hard to read accurately with a quick look. IMHO it is the poorest design on a modern car that I have seen.
Now I need a bit of help. When I ordered the car i forgot to tell the dealer to order the soft boot MSRP $160 invoice $139, I realized that about a week later and he added it to the order. However when the car came the factory did not add it. To order it from parts it is now approximately $400. I Googled the item and looked on ebay, but it seems that no one is making an after market boot for the 2011/12. Does anyone know of a boot that fits or do you have one that is from the factory that you do not use or want and would like to sell?
My overall impression is an 8.5 out of 10 and I very glad I bought this car instead of one of the pre-owned Audi S4 Quattro's that I was considering
