Lincoln Mk VIII block

I have an opportunity to purchase an engine from a 98 Lincoln Mk VIII. My question is whether I can use the block and crank for a SOHC buildup. I think the block is aluminum but I am not sure. Is the crank forged or cast? Any input appreciated.

Great, now I HAVE to buy that stupid thing and sit on it until "radical mods" funds come in..I was hoping you guys would talk me out of it.....

the block can be used for 2v you will just have to drill a coolant passage...very easy and noticable once you put the gasket on.
The crank is not a Forged unit like the Cobra...
Don't pay to much for it.
