    Hi Gang!

Trying to help a long-time MII owner friend of mine. He's been slowly putting back together his 74 Mach 1, with a 302, and is in need of exhaust system parts, most needed is the "Y" pipe. Short of custom work, any sources, or do any members here have parts for sale?

    Many, many thanks,

    Dan

Its too bad you're so far away....I have the Y-pipe and at least one of the exhaust manifolds from my '78 V8, and since I'm dropping in a 2.8 I don't need the V8 stuff. Shipping across both the border and the continent would suck, though.

Well, there's no such thing as a 74 V8, so either his car isn't a 74, or someone put a V8 in it. In either case, it doesn't sound original, so maybe just have the local exhaust shop make one up? If he wants a factory piece, keep an eye out on ebay, I've seen a few V8 Y pipes on there lately.

Something also to keep in mind, is the factory V8 setup is a bit odd. Coming off the drivers side, is a short 1 foot 45 degree pipe, that went to a cast spacer, and on some cars that spacer had a heat valve in it. Then from there, the factory Y attached. So, if he doesn't have these upper parts, a REAL "factory" Y won't attach, and if he does have these upper parts a replacement Y won't attach unless he removes them. Personally, I've never seen a II that still had these parts on it, they were usually long gone.

    Parts

    Blue Coyote,

    could it be a 1975?

I'll check with Paul (owner), he may be willing to have you ship anyway. Can you PM me an e-mail address, so I may pass it along? $$?

    thanks!

i also have the exhaust manifolds from my king. the will need to be sand/bead blasted but are in good shape. a few bucks plus shipping. drop me a line if you would like them. i believe the both have a small portion of the y-pipe on them, so if you need to make one the may help a little.

Mine's a 78 (as I posted above), but if Paul has a V8 in a 74, then there's already been some Redneckology involved in his II, so it should work out...

blue_coyote@telus.net and it would be shipped from postal code V5G1E9 (Canada)

The parts I have are: one exhaust manifold (possibly the other as well if it turns up), the muffler, and the one-piece Y-pipe that goes from the manifolds to the muffler. The Y-pipe section is about 4 1/2 to 5' in length. Its currently sitting in my II which is in storage until November 2nd when I'll be moving it to my new house. I can take better measurements once I get it settled in the new garage.
