Hi All, Does anyone have any recommendations for a Chicago area dealership/service dept that is reliable? I live in Naperville. Last year I sold my daily driven 2003 Mach 1 for a 2003 mach 1 with 3K miles which I now store in the winter. Well having only driven it maybe 4 times last summer and after it sitting it is not starting. Changed battery, but my family (mom has cobra) believes it may be the computer chip that needs to be reset (it happened to her in the past). Anyway, I have had some horror stories with my former mach and a local dealership and am now so upset to have to bring it somewhere....if anyone can help, I would appreciate it. Shauna
I remember you from years and I mean years ago... Anywho, Rod Baker in Plainfield always had a couple of enthusiast in back that knew what they were doing; unfortunately I haven't had to have anything serviced there in forever. I believe the anti-theft light will flash if the chip needs to be reflashed. Otherwise the IAC could be stuck, fuel pump or relay may have gone out to lunch or it may just need a bit of tip in during start up to help it along. Hopefully you put stabil in the tank before parking it, the gas probably isn't worth anything otherwise.
If your not too bothered of driving 45 mins or so , Here near me theres a dealership that i would rec. for you. Rock River Ford - Ask for Bernie - hes been working there for years he'll get **** done right for you. Purchased my Stang from them as well. Had to drop off my stang once for a leak was done pretty quick. Good people too - dont talk to you like your a moron. All round satisfaction. Anywho - hope that helps a tad. Best of luck.
