Lowering Question

Since I lowered my car I'm having a severe Tow in problem "butterflying". I've heard new balljoints or new camber plates will fix this. Which one do I actually need or do I need both. Any help would be apprecieted.

Yessir..Caster/Camber plates will rectify this probelm.

I'll probably put them on myself. The guys who do the alignment should be able to get them back correctly?

I would honestly have the alignment shop put them on and se the alignement for you as well. It will be easier for them to do both, so they can adjustment and set the camber and caster to what it needs to be.

Caster/Camber plates will corret your toe in condition. Depending on how much you lowered it, you might want to consider a bump steer kit as well. I see you like steeda and they make the best one.

It's lowered about 2in in the front and 1 1/2in in the rear.

Im about to get the H&Rs and lower mine anywhere from 1 1/2 to 2in
and wondering if i will be alright if i just get caster camber plates along with it

are you sure you didn't get toe in confused with negative camber???

The top of the wheel is farther inside the wheel well then the bottom is.

take it and have aligment shop do the install. and get aligment done at the same time. less hassle, and they have all the tooles that they need. If you did your own install on spring, you should have done it at the same time

I did the spring install myself, but the tires were already bad at that point so I really didn't bother with the alignment. I figured I'd just wait until it was time to get new ones.

A good alignment shop can fix the problem I lowered my 03 GT recently and had the same problem with the camber. If it a severe tow out the camber plates will fix the problem anyway.

That is called camber. Camber measures the amount the tire's TOP is angled in.

Toe measures the amount the tire's FRONT is angled in.

So I have a camber problem then. Is that normal for only lowering about 2in?

If you get the Supersports, you will definitely need the caster/camber plates to get your camber back to spec.

Like others have stated:

Viewing from the front of the car to see camber...

/ \ = negative camber

\ / = positive camber




Viewing from the top of the car to see toe in...
