not really, they just have a live axle to play with over the cobra

You sure?

The Cobra's were rated at 320 HP and most runs Ive seen magazine wise are mid-upper 13's.

The Mach's are 300 HP, and run mid-low 13's in the same mags.

Does the solid rear axle give it that much advantage at the strip over the IRS?

Well they only made two year model Cobra's that were rated at 320hp. Only the 2001 (not 1999) had the actual 320hp. The 99's had roughly around 290-300.

The 03/04 Mach 1's are rated at 305hp, but actually put out probably around 320hp from what I have seen in their rwhp numbers.

Solid axle does help a bit with take-off, nothing special.

The 01 Cobra's run mid-13's...and just a tick lower...

Yeah my bad, should have said I was reffering to the later model non s/c'd Cobra's, not the first 96-98
s. Didnt Ford have a recall on the 99 Cobra's for not making the whole advertized 320 hp?

Yeah that is what I was talking about:)

I never referred to the 96-98 DOHC, just the 99's (a bit weaker) and 01's (true 320bhp)...
