maf conversion questions

ok should i take the whole wiring harness out of my wrecked 91 to do the conversion on my 87 or should i just cut out the mass airflow sensor plugin to wire into my existing harness. both motors are out so it shouldnt be that hard to do either of these things. i am just wondering what would be better

I just replaced the top half of the harness when I did my conversion i.e. seperated the harness at the salt and pepper shakers... Harness, computer and sensor in just over an hour.
