Hi All,

I just got done lowering the new engine and ran into a snag - The oil pan is hitting the manual rack, I can't even slide a piece of paper between. It was really no suprise with such a big pan. Other than that, everything else clears (headers, trans, rest of engine).

Any ideas on how to get a little extra clearence between the two?

Awesome, Thanks for the tip!

I installed a mini starter as well. I'm going to put some heat wrap around the positive starter cable too, everything is minimal space on the passenger side. I even had to cut about a 1/2 inch off the end of the strut rod to clear the header.

good thats good to here

i just about gave up on my car when I got laid off and lost my job... now I'm working again and have a little money to put back in the money pit... When I put the car together over 10 years ago race gas was 4.00 a gal... man I wish it was still that price 8.65 now it takes all the fun out of driving it on the street and the race track is just to far away to go to

I just got done putting 1/2" square nuts between the motor mounts and engine. It worked great, thanks again!

With the extra 1/2" motor height and higher intake, the top of the carb is about level with the top of the fenders. It looks like it's going to need a cutout hood.

yes cut a big ugly hole in your hood like I did

I cut a hole in my hood years ago when I had the other motor I had the cobra scoop so it was no big deal but when I put the new motor in and put on a 4" air cleaner I had to cut a bigger hole... not very pretty to look at.. was going to buy some kind of scoop but never got around to it... here is a few pitures of the hood with hole you will need to look really hard....

I'm pretty sure you were looking for an excuse to do that anyway.
Ya, I really didn't want to cut a hole in it, Cowl induction is in the works ;) .

It took me a while to figure out where the hole was that you were talking about. :)
