I will be racing my friends 97' LT1 Z28. Its a 6 speed Vert. Anyone raced one? I know i know nos, but that is a last option, if i could do it NA it would be sweeter, see im looking for anything you could reccomend short of a head/cam swap. I guess i should maby just save for that supercharger. I would like to buy a used one but im afaraid about my money getting stolen. Does anyone think if i say added an intake that would help?

yeah his car is completely stock down to the square exhaust tips; ive ridden in it, seems it dont pull all THAT hard...but damn i gotta get the win or its all bad talk about ford from than on. will headers and intake really make a diff on my otherwise stock motor? OH, and i havent been to the track, cause of damn winter, plus i gotta drive to new hampshire to my nearest track :(. Oh, he is not a super driver, not saying that i am eaiter, just that hes not a pro.

My mods smoke my friends stock coupe Z/28 bad. Just get an Edelbrock Performer and you'll wax him unless you can't drive. You should be able to beat him with what you have now. I raced my other friends Z/28 with full exhaust, 3000 stall, shift kit, CAI and all the free mods and I only had 3.73's and pulleys and I kept up with him until he started pulling up top.

Longtubes, intake, sticky tires, and learn to be a better driver.

IMO headers (Long Tube ) and some BFG Drag Radials and a hard launch would make the z owner mad...... His car at best would be a low 14@95-98mph / High14s most likely....

    Good Luck

I'd say alot of it will depend on the driver, but you have a slight advantage, his car being a vert.An intake, headers, good tires, and the "perfect pass" should beat him.
