Alright well i decided that my car is running pretty well besides the few small problems that it was having... I ordered some mods for the car... im a pretty damn good driver when it comes to running the 1300... I was just wondering what everyone thinks ill be hitting... i wanna hit the track by next weekend but im not sure what will make it here in time and if i can find time to start bolting them on.... On Their way: Explorer intake manifold CAI Catted High flow h pipe (NJ Smog legal) New Plugs Ford Racing 9mm Wires Ford racing 50% stronger hold clutch. My overall goal is 13's Heres what i thinkn it will take: Headers CAI Intake manifold H pipe Catback 3.73's wires plugs nice clutch decent rubber.
it can be done with our heavier 94-95's but like said you have the real heavy version. There are a few verts that have gone 13's. With stock heads though I think it will be kinda hard. Unless by good rubber you mean ET streets dumping at 4+k rpm powershifting with a shortbelt with as much weight removed as possible.
i would rather have a vert, esp in the summer.. just drop the top and cruise a s/c can be had for resonable prices and thatll make up for the heavyness of the vert. dont get discouraged!
yea im not hooking up a car with 204k on the clock to a bottle... im just asking for trouble... i gotta do some research on heads... im used to "heads" meaning the whole cyl head and everything... im used to a DOHC set up... Gotta read up more on the push rod 5.0 b4 i try to do things to it... its better to know whats your doing and secs b4 you just jump to it... this is another reason i sold the probe i planned on boosting the JDM motor but didnt know enought about boost.... and i thought the ****ty ass valve retainers n springs that tended to float valves were going to be a problem... i do plann on putting on heads and a cam but im not sure if i wanna do it to this motor or buy a block for like $75 and start building up that on the side...
well there are a few ways you can go with heads and cam but that all depends on how much your willing to spend...it is probably better just to go big right off the bat instead of doing a budget build and then wanting to get more hp and lighter weight up front later on
also im referring to the budget build as iron heads such as ported e7s, gt40s, gt40p (but need specific header) compared to going all out which would be aluminum heads such as the edelbrock performers, trickflow twisted wedge heads, and afr 165cc heads....i would have put this in the other message but the edit button has not been working for me
I was thinking anbout doing a gt40P combo considering i didnt buy headers yet for my car... but that will have to be post birthday/ christmass
Are you kidding me? I went 14.2s on bald street tires with my vert that had full exhauast, pulleys, CAI, and 3.73s. No intake and certainly no headwork. With DRs it would have ran 13s with ease.
congrats, sounds like a nice runner and also out of the norm. With a catback, 3.73's, pooolies, K&N, and 14* everything else stock I ran a 14.3 myself with a 2.0 60ft on street tires. If you could have picked up 1.5 on your 60 a 13.9 would not have been out of the question. Most verts seem to be about .25-.50 slower from what I have seen.
Why does that make you want to sell the thing? I thought you said you went 14.5's in your Probe and a Mustang is so much heavier, and sexier. Plus, I guarantee you'll get more bang for the buck with the 5.0.
eh but i dont have that much cash... id love t mod the hell out of it... i was gonna sell and pick up a fox or notch if anything...
