has anyone ever used it and does it work good. i just went and spent 15 dollars on the thing and I want to know if it works before i open it. Let me know and if it doens't work what is the best wax system to use to remove scratches and swirls and restore the paint and give it that "wet" look

No clay bar kit is going to remove swirls or scratches. Clay bar kits are for removing contaminates that are bonded to the surface like rail dust, tree sap, bird droppings, etc... That is not to say that you should take the kit back as removing bonded contaminates is a good first step after washing the car.

To remove light scratches and swirls you might try Meguiars ScratchX or Meguiars Body Scrub paint cleaner. Either product should be available at your local auto parts store. To protect the paint why not give Meguiars NXT Tech Wax a try?

Here is a pic of my '01 GT with Meguiars Tech Wax.

Here is mine--Clay barred with Mother's, Meg's cleaner and polish, NTX wax and Megs Gold over it.

Not to bad, if I do say so.

Pale--you are right! I've learned more here in the last two weeks that I have in a long time! It is amazing how something as "simple" as detailing your car isn't so simple!

Many, many thanks to all of you for your help. I certainly appreciate it!

Still have to finish the inside, but I'm about out of time before Friday.

The Meguiars Tech wax works very well. It leaves no dust at all like other waxes do. Its a very nice product that will leave your car with a beautiful shine.
