I just installed a 2001 GT motor in my 97 GT. It has bit more balls after 4000rpm and roll-ons are a lot more fun. The problem I am having is that it makes a whining sound, kind of like a power steering pump does when it is low on fluid, when RPM rises. I am using the 2001 timing cover with all the 97 accessories. What I was wondering is if something is spinning backwards because of the different belt routing.

Thnx

Spinning backwards,

I'm pretty sure that thee 99+ motors have an extra Idler pully, so if somthing were spinning backwars you would have known in about 2 minutes when you blew a line in the radiator....

Could be wrong.
