Exhaust Muffler Hanger Bolt Torque

  1. If someone just happens to have access to the $180.00 shop manual, can you tell me the proper torque for the bolts that hold the muffler support brackets to the car's frame?

  2. That's getting a little obsessive. Back in the day before we had manuals, we just torqued bolts by size and thread pitch. Just decently and sensibly tight is fine here; it's not a main cap. A bolt this size and coarse pitch, meh, about 30-40 lbs/ft.

  3. For future reference when properly installed, the "Exhaust Isolator Bracket Bolts" should be tightened to 18 Foot Pounds of torque.
