Hi all, currently I am in the process of rebuilding the suspention and steering in my II, I've got a flaming river manual rack, everthing is perfect except that the coupler that adapts the splines on the rack to the rag joint is not working. I overlooked the fact that the factory power rack has a larger splined shaft, than the FR manual rack. Does anyone know if the factory manual rack has a smaller shaft than the power one?

Flaming river actually sells the coupling you'll need for the manual rack. I believe it is somewhere around $80.

Years ago, I bought a manual pinto rack from NAPA($80 I think?), and discovered that the spline on the rag-joint wouldnt fit. I left that swap on hold until I happened across a Pinto wagon at a junkyard and I got its manual steering rag-joint, after waiting all that time. (a couple years) Funny thing is, the yard just gave it to me for nothing, so it ended up being a great and very cheap swap.
