yeah was lucky to have a buddy who likes to save things for "rainy days"
So after spending the weekend trolling through pick-n-pull's and wrench-a-parts up in the Dallas/Ft.Worth area, I thought I was going to end up going home empty handed. Now I dunno about you guys, but I've learned regardless if the car is absolutly DESTROYED, I still dig a little bit and see what's inside the car. If I look the car over, and find evidence of performance goodies than I really start digging. So at a certain yard I found two little fox bodies, both well.....destroyed:
The car on the left, had BBK header's (destroyed) and I noticed the lower intake gasket laying on the passenger side of the car, and looked like a trick-flow/holley systemax setup. So I started digging some more, and found in the trunk, UNDER the spare tire and jack, this little piece:
SO I about fall over, being I found this in the trunk...and both of these cars are PICKED over.....well what was pick-able...so I finish walking around and head back up to the counter, and the young girl at the cashier says "$16 dollars sir" Thank you very much, ends up it's a 76mm C&L with a 24# sample tube in it, so now I'm on the hunt for 24# injector's or a 19# sample tube....
That's an awesome find.
Ha, yea, for 16$ I'd probably give a C&L a try, too.
Snapped a pic, just cause...be nice to get the LX bumper back on...
and cleaned this up a little bit (my god it was nasty)
I dunno what happened to this MAF, looks like someone took a cutoff wheel to it, gouges and some hefty nicks on the ends...smoothed
them out. So now looking for a 19 lb sample tube.
Man, I really like your car with the GT front clip.
I love coupes......but not with a GT front end. It just looks out of place to me....hence the reason I'm putting an LX front clip on
You could always buy the sample tube from c&l directly.
I think the GT front clip looks great myself?
I have a set of 24's sitting on my shelf if you are still looking.
Your car will look better with the LX clip back on the front. Especially with those 99 Cobras. The GT bumper might flow a little better if you replaced the fender extensions with Cobra ones, but I vote for getting the LX back on. Great looking car.
FINALLY fixed the one thing that all fox owner's hate. The POS ashtray. Mine has been broken since I got it. Such a simple fix, but you forget about it
until you get in the car and hear the damn ashtray door rattle. Drive me bat **** crazy. Anyway, got the ashtray fix it kit:
The design for this door is the biggest POS.....I just removed mine all together
Ashtray has seen better days:
Looks much MO betta:
It does look better. I couldn't believe it when I found my LX's door was still working and unmodded.
H/C/I install is this weekend. Hopefully no issues, and no problems
What kind of top end are you going with?
Guess you didn't see any pictures or read anything previously huh? LOL GT40 3 bar heads with upgraded springs, e303 cam, 1.7 roller rocker's, explorer upper intake, gt40 lower. Ceramic coated BBK longtubes.
I'll be honest...it was so long ago and so many pages to go through, I was feeling too lazy to bother looking it up.
I'll be keeping my eyes peeled for the results, as I've got a very similar set up sitting on the bench at home waiting to go onto my engine as well.
Well started it today, here's the pictures:
