I swear to god if they make it and it's those damned knock off robots I'll find the exec and beat him to death with a wiffle ball bat. LIONS FTW
Its been known for a while that a Thundercats movie is in the works. I for one, a HUGE Thundercats fan am weary of what they will do to my all time fave 80's toon. WB completely fubard the DVD's, I wonder how much more they will f up the series... Voltron is listed on IMDB as being "announced", so not a whole lot of info on that yet. Media Blasters has done a superb job with the DVD's though. And yeah, Lion Voltron ftw:Word:
They were talking about that back when the commercial where the Smurfs get bombed came out. They said then that it is animated. I'm waiting for a live action Smurfs movie. The Jetsons might make a cool live action movie. The other two... Maybe they will be animated though. 2008 The problem with is that there is no such thing as Robotech. Robotech is actually three unrelated Japanese anime series (Super Dimension Fortress Macross, Super Dimensional Cavalry: Southern Cross, and Genesis Climber Mospeada ) and butchered them into a single storyline. However, I would support a live action Macross movie.
They did a lot of that "butchering" back in the day here in the States. Voltron was one of them. Hyakujuu-ou Golion (Hundred Beast King Lion) is the series Japaneese name and there was lots of blood and gore (Robots getting there heads chopped off by Voltron, etc) in the original. They also had to re-work the death of Sven. In the original he dies, funeral shown and all. In the states version he just disappears after getting wounded in battle. Voltron was two different series mashed up into one. GoLion and something called Dairugger. Edit: Forgot to mention Media Blasters will be releasing Hundred Beast King Lion soon.
When's the Dinosaucers movie coming out amnit: I'm sure they'll do live action on the Jetsons, Mighty Mouse, and Thundercats, they'll just CGI the crap out of them.
Didn't know that. The only Voltron episode I've ever seen came with a copy of Newtype Magazine earlier this year ^_^
I'm waiting for "My Buddy: The Movie" myself. It's not fair that Chuckie got to be so popular as being a spin-off from that doll - My Buddy deserves his own movie, too! They already have a live-action G.I. Joe: The Movie ... or rather, several iterations of it. They are known as "Saving Private Ryan," "Blackhawk Down," and "Pearl Harbor" ... although none of those actually feature Sgt. Slaughter, as the original animated flick did, unfortunately...
that movie freaked me out when i was little, cause my best friend had a my buddy, and i saw the movie at like age 6, and i kept thinking his my buddy was going to come kill me.... blegh
Ahhh crap now I got the "My Buddy" jingle stuck in my head. I can't believe I remember that. "My buddy....MY BUDDY... My Buddy and Me!!" hahaha
and dont forget kid sister! who got added on to my buddy shortly after, when some women started calling my buddy sexist!
My Buddy was too young to be sexist. My Buddy didn't even know what sex was - he had no genitals. (Unless those were anatomically-correct dolls, like Chuckie...? )
i had a Dino-Riders lunch box when i was a kid only live-action cartoon turned movie i see being decent (in fact it'd be downright AWESOME) would be Exo Squad god i loved Exo Squad
**** yeah! Phaeton FTW! id also like to see SwatKats in a full-length Computer Animated movie. ****ing F-14 that has every weapon in the arsenal and can hover like a Harrier and turn on a dime, piloted by two badass cats saving the world (its like, Top Gun but less homo erotic tendencies)? cmon, who wouldn't pay to see that?
