My 2002 V6 Mustang was damaged by the dealer when the mechanic put it up on the lift the wrong way. He damaged the pinch weld seams on both sides of the car under the rocker panels. Anyways, I took my car in 2 days ago to an independent body shop that the dealer uses in order for them to fix my Mustang.

I just got my Mustang back late this afternoon. Lots of repair work was done to it to repair the damage that the Ford mechanic did to it. The body shop technician bended back the damaged and bent up and crushed areas on the pinch weld seams. After doing this, he sanded down the pinch weld seams that were repaired and he then put on some seam sealer on them. Then he primed them and painted them. Afterwards, he put clearcoat on them.

He also repaired the passenger side painted plastic rocker panel moulding which was bent outwards by the pinch weld seam being bent. He didn't have to repaint it because it wasn't scratched. It was just flexed. He flexed it back and put brand new clips on the whole rocker panel moulding when he clipped it back on the pinch weld seam. He also repaired the front left bottom plastic wheel well cover next to the pich weld seam which was out of place. He also resprayed some rubberized heavy duty 3M rustproof sealant inside the entire left rear wheel well where there was some sealant that was cracked and bubbled up on the bottom corner part of the left rear wheel well.

He then hand washed the exterior of my car. I am unable to get underneath my Mustang to see the repairs which he did, but it looks like he did a good quality job.

The only thing which I noticed that I am worried about was that there are some small white specks on the left top part of the rear seat cushion. It looks like there's sprinkled powdered sugar all over the top of the rear seat cushion on the driver's side. I think that his might be bodyshop dust, but I am not sure. And I also noticed that there were some greenish colored smudges on the bottom part of the driver's side dashboard and on the side area of the dashboard right where the driver's door shuts on to the dashboard. I lightly rubbed my fingers across these areas on the dashboard and I think that some of the smudges came off. I did not touch the rear seat cushion because it was getting dark out by the time I got home and I couldn't see the area of the seat cushion which has the white specks on it.

Do you think that these white specks on the rear seat cushion and the smudges underneath and on the side of the dashboard on the driver's side is just dust from the body shop? Or is it anything else? The body shop tech showed me a can of seam sealant that he used when he repaired the pinch weld seams on my Mustang. He didn't open the can for me, but I realized that the outside of the can had greenish colored smears on it. Do you think that maybe the smudges that are currently underneath the dashboard and on the side of the dashboard on the driver's side from him accidently putting his hands in this area while his hands were stained with the seam sealant? I hope that I can just get the smudges off the dashboard by using a cloth towel with warm water. As for the white specks on the rear driver's side seat cushion, do you think that this is just body shop dust? The smudges on the dashboard and the white specks were not there before I took my Mustang to the bodyshop for repairs.

Please tell me what you think the smudges and the white specks are? Also tell me how I can take them off so they can disappear. Do you think that the white specks all over the one side of the rear seat cushion and the smudges on the dashboard will come off? I am afraid that they might be permanent. I don't want to bring the car back to the body shop for them to do any detail work to it because they are a small body shop and they have very limited and very cramped facilities. Plus, they are not a very clean bodyshop and I am sure that they don't know how to do detail work when cleaning or washing a car that has just been repaired. They are more of a body shop than a detail shop. They do excellent quality body work, but they lack quality when washing and cleaning a vehicle after body work is performed to it.

i know, the white stuff is cocaine and the green stuff is wet paint he had on his paint suit, why are you always so worried about the small stuff? try some all purpose cleaner, and if it doesn't come off take it back and complain they botched the repair job...

Ok, I pretty much consider myself obsessive about my car. I park way out away from everyone at the stores, I wash it once a week, etc. But man, you really worry too much. Just take you some Armor All wipes and wipe off the smudges. As for the seat, see if you can get it off. If not, go back and complain but man, if you're losing sleep over this, no offense, but, what are you going to do if you go to start your car and it doesn't turn over? It's just dirt dude..wipe it off.

I totally agree with everyone else. Stop being such a baby and clean the stuff off with some vinyl cleaner or a little bit of dawn and warm water and try lightly vaccumming the stuff up off your back seat. Also, why the hell do you have Ron Jeremy as your username? Are you really that pathetic? Come on now.

I washed off the smears and smudges with a soft cotton cloth and warm water. There were some smudges from the body technicians dirty hands. I don't know if there are any more smudges and smears anywhere else, but I was able to clean the ones that I found on the seats, dashboard and steering wheel.

I think he crawled into the car and masturbated on your back seat. The green smudges are lubricant.

Lesson #1: Don't take your car to ford
Lesson #2: Take the porno mags out of the back seat so twinkie filling doesn't wind up in your interior
Lesson #3: Don't gripe about little stuff
Lesson #4: Don't complain about semen when your name is Ron Jeremy
