I search and searched for it too. I never saw it. I prolly have 200 "Talk" posts. Finally one of the mods told me while I was ranting about it. Oops.

The search feature only "searches" certain forums, sorta...

People complained because the forums were slow. Queries were one of the more prominent causes.
Solution:
Indexes placed only on Tech and Specialty sub-forums.

People complained because search does not return valid results.
Solution:
