Stay in one place. I hate those slow moving burnouts, and yes more RPM.Sort of like this.

Thats what a burnout looks like with an auto that you let shift through the gears. Personally I would keep it in low gear for the burnout, will be less hard on the egine, tranny, and brakes!

My only real burnout on video... Oh and I know all about too much heat in the tires. The clutch actually suffered from that, as you can tell by the weak sounding third gear (usually I get a bark like second). The tires also suffered too much heat and I think that was a mid 1.7 60'. Either way its a long low RPM burnout!

his burnout was fine....notice all the people and cars on either side? i know i wouldent want to be doing a "fast" burnout though there....little to risky for my taste....to easy for the car to do whatever it want....( man i sound old

Well actually a first gear burnout at 5000 RPM, would have the tires spinning slower and less of a chance of hooking, than a third gear burnout at 4000 RPM!

duh, he said he hates when you go slow...i thought he ment...moving slow...not with the rpms down low...hey maybe he was trying to save gas

No he said he hates when ppl do slow moving butnouts, hed rather see them NOT move at all. He did mean moving slow, but I brought up the RPM thing, moving and bogging the RPM down would give greater risk of the tires grabbing and having something bad happen. Im pretty sure noone doing a burnout is doing one to save gas...

duh...gas part was joke...you dont drive a 5.0 to save gas...they guzzle gas..

My 5.0 gets mid 20s on the highway, actually better than my 4cyl lately!

i guess i have a bad sence of hummor.....
we went and picked up My thunderbird supercoupe this weekend...it got great gas milliage..
my SC got 25 MPG today....132 miles 70-75mph at 1,800-2,000 RPM.....
3.27 gear rocks...
