We may have to look into that in the future. Thanks. :)

Todays progress wasn't too bad. We got the engine out, which was our goal for the night. Hopefully tomorrow we'll have the new engine in and at least close to running. :)

Well today wasn't too bad. We spent a lot of time switching parts over from the 4.6 to the 5.4, way more time than I was expecting. We managed to get the new engine set down in the car. It's extremely tight, but it fits. We got the transmission bolted on and most of the accessories. The transmission in the 4.6 stangs is rediculously hard to install. Whoever decided it would be a good idea to put the bellhousing to trans bolts INSIDE the bellhousing needs to be shot.

We did find out what's wrong with the old engine. We found a rocker just laying there when we took the valve cover off. So it's probably not a rod bearing or anything serious. Oh well. :)

Tomorrow we need to put the intake back on and do some work on the stock h-pipe to get it to fit. I think that's about it.

Well it's finished and Shawn's on his way back to Columbus, which is a 2 1/2 hour drive from here. Surprisingly it fired right up and ran great right away. There's a horrible exhaust leak on the passenger side from either the header collector or the pipe where we had to extend it, or both. We were just about out time, plus there's an x-pipe on the way, so we just left it alone for now.

I'll get the video up tomorrow night. It's the car starting up with open headers. :)

Ignore my horrible welding. :p

We didn't have time to do much cleaning, let alone painting. When we change the cams in the next month or two we'll paint a few things then.

O yeah ..... It definitely feels stronger than that 4.6. I was a little worried about driving it all the way to Columbus directly after we were finished but it ran GREAT!

Once I made it Columbus I was able to get on it a decent amount and feels much better than the stock 4.6. The low end torque is awesome :nice:

Yeah it runs pretty good on the stock tune. I have a chip that the guy that had the car before me had not sure whats on it but i do now it makes it run a good bit better and my my speedo is right with the 3.73 gears.

I have a tune from Brian at Dyno Tune Motorsports for the 5.4 baseline that im going to go test out now :D
