Ha ha i knew that would get some people in here. I am looking to get some new pads. what is the diffrance between ford (ceramic) brake pads and auto zone pads( not sure of the brand) anyway ford wants 400 bucks for front and rear pads. Auto zone has pads for 40 bucks a set. I know you get what you pay for but mine are squeeking and i do not have 400 or 500 bucks to blow on breaks. what would you guys do? what are your thougths on these pads from auto zone? take in to account that i would need to spin my rotters. I am looking to spend 150-200 or less considering i am in college and short on money since i just paid 1700 on chrome 18 cobra R's and tires (will be here soon0
Go to the store, get some sponges, give them to her and tell her they were out so you thought these would do. She'll never ask again.
HAHA yourself because guess what, all you have to do is put your mouse over any thread and you can see the first couple of sentences and decide if you are interested in that thread or not.
The 400 from Ford is probably including 4 new rotors. Pads shouldn't cost you more than maybe 150 at the absolute most.
the front pads alone are 178.99 from the ford place here. then 99.99 for the rear pads. then to spin my roters and install the new pads they want 375 to 400 bucks. that is crazy
Dude you are getting ripped off big time if you pay that much for the front and rear pads. The price at AutoZone is about the price you should expect to pay. Hmmm, that link didn't work. Search for part number QLT-MF804K on summit.
that is what i was saying. i about flipped when he told me it would be 400 bucks for break pads. would you go with the ones from auto zone? the ford place said not to but of course they are going to say that. ford said there pads are ceramic so they are better and worth the cash and i will save money in the long run they said. scam?
I think autozone pads are junk. The pads they quoted for $40 are prolly the metallic ones I had. They squeal like crazy and you will get alot of brake dust build up. I would spend a little extra money and get ceramic pads, not from ford though $180 is too much. I just picked up a set of ceramic pads from a carquest for $55.
there is nothign wrong with paying 55 bucks for some brake pads that work well. i do not think that paying almost 200 bucks for just the fronts from ford is worth it. for OEM parts.
i bought brand new ceramic brake pads for 100 bucks from a website. they work really good and leave almost no brake dust on your rims. if you want the email address to the guy who i got them off of, just email me.
