A guy told me today that taking the cats out would lower the back pressure too much and the turbo would lag horribly. Can anyone confirm this?? I though the less back pressure the better??... :bang:

Does that guy work for the EPA?

No, removing the cat will not INCREASE lag. You are correct that on a turbo car the less backpressure the better. However, most modern cats aren't really all that restrictive so you usually don't see much of a difference from removing them.

my muffler guy said the same thing, not sure what the problem was with the 84 and 86 owner....

I will post Dyno number as soon as I get them, unfortately, my clutch is slipping and dyno testing the car would certainly kill it for good. dyno will have to wait a month or so.
