Need a new shifter boot

i have a cheap rubber boot over my shifter and you can hear everything through it. Anyone know where i can buy a thicker one? im getting a lot of road noise and just regular transmission noise and drivin me nuts.

how about putting a leather boot on top for looks? maybe a rubber one underneath to insulate the noise? Lokar makes some neat stuff.

If i understood the original design they used to have 2 boots. 1 boot that went under the tunnel to stop dirt an debris, and another boot that went inside the car on top of the tunnel that was mostly for looks?

Lower boot?

The leather upper boot looks nice and gives a nice clean look.

Does anyone know if the lower boot will still fit a Classic (65 - 67) era 4 speed after a Hurst Shifter is added? My 66 with the factory shifter was missing the lower boot when I bought it. Now that I have a Hurst in there, I am wondering if anyone knows if the factory lower boot will fit before I go and buy it?

Love to see it! I don't have a console right now and have the Hurst rubber boot that looks like crap. That Lokar boot and plate look very nice, much more custom.

Here's my shift boot installed with ReenMachine's console version shift handle.

I installed part of a rubber shift boot underneath the leather outer boot.

I cut the top square off of this rubber boot to fit my shifter handle shaft.

Then, I used this leather outer shift boot that I purchased from EBay. It's from a 89-92 RX7.
