ok my brother in law bought a used saleen supercharger off of ebay and it is the eaton style... anybody know where we can print out an installation manual? also anybody have one of these superchargers? can they advise what they dyno with them? and does anybody have a saleen charger eaton style with a diablo chip and other modfications and know what they dyno? my brother in law is looking to attempt to hit 400 hp... he is also looking at getting a cai, bbk long tubes with an o/r x pipe, he might do cams and pi heads for more hp... is also questioning whether to put a smaller pulley on it? thanks need advice and help guys
I dont know where to find directions, but if he bought just the supercharger alone, he is going to need more to get the car going. The car will need bigger injectors, fuel pump, computer will most likely have to be tuned to get the air/fuel corrected. The supercharger also needs to sit on a different intake manifold than whats currently in the car. You will also need the correct intake piping to mount on the back of the s/c. Im not sure how the acessory belt fits on there, but you will obviously need a longer belt, and possibly some kind of acessory bracket to make sure the belt spins on the right side. Lots of things come to mind if he bought just the s/c and nothing else.
no he bought a full kit used... just wondering because he mentioned the intake that came with the kit looks more like an aftermarket not the one that saleen includes...
he is definatley missing a fitting that goes behind the supercharger... and anyone know where i can get or maybe someone can get me an installation manual that has pictures... for a saleen supercharger.... eaton style one (gray one)
Do you know what series blower he got? Did he also get the intercooler that sits under the blower, the intercooler pump with wiring, the heat exchanger that goes in front of the radiator, the holding tank??? Tell us a little more about where the fitting if missing from. PICS please
If the fitting is in the plate on the back of the intake under the blower, there are three things that hook up there. 2 intercooler hoses and the smaller one is where the boost guage hooks up. Tell him not to get his hopes up for 400 hp with that blower unless he is willing to do a good bit of work to port it, and fix the IC leaks inside the intake.
it is a complete kit including intercooler water pump but it is used so of course there might be missing parts which is why we are looking for a parts list and installation manual.... you have a saleen supercharger? how much ho you making? he might have a series 2 blower it is the eaton style the one before this it is gray with a silver intake manifold....
For install, use this site - LINK and LINK - I believe I got this link from jstreet0204 who posted above - he answered a lot of little questions I had and was a big help! I installed my Series II using this with no problems. I was also lucky to have the owner whom I bought the kit from live only 4 minutes from my house (he was doing a 4v swap) - so I went back a few times to get odds and ends I found I needed during the install. Post some pics of your kit. And yeah if its a Series II, you will not be seeing close to 400 without a good number of extra modifications. Heres some pics of my Series II during the install: . . You might also have a Series I, if it says Saleen across the top like in this picture: . . List exactly all the pieces you have and I am sure we can tell you if you are missing anything.
PM your email address and I can send you a pdf of the Series IV instructions. The file is to big for me to attach it here. -Jeff
Blinkstang, what of intake is that? The CAI. Im getting ready to buy a S281 and looking for mods for it. Does that use the intercooler?
blink how much hp have you made with your series 2? and no it is series 2 because it does not say saleen on top.... i figure i am going to try and get him a cobra intercooler resevoir which is the same
If its a non PI car, don't put the PI heads on as it will raise the compression way too much for a SC. But with all the supporting mods, you can come around 400hp quite easily. But i don't think the blower itself has the capability/efficiency to make it much past that.
Very doubtful you will get 400RWHP with a Saleen Series I or II without a lot of other modifications... If he changes the pulley, he will also need to upgrade the fuel pump - mine was leaning out with the 66mm pulley.
