I have a 91’ 5.0 with a Vortech supercharger along with other numerous mods. My car has been in storage for about 5 years so I have kinda fallen out of the mustang game but want to get the car back into the swing of things. There are a few thing that I never changed or upgraded. 1st is the FMU that came with the Vortech. I hear that they are the bottom of the list for controlling fuel. I also still have the stock “untuned” computer and 24 lbs injectors. My last dyno was a little over 400 at the wheels so it’s not a total dog but I know there is room for improvement. What’s a better set up to go with these days? I’m not looking at pouring a ton of money into the car so any advice would be appreciated.
I am sure people will say 42's and a custom tune to ditch the FMU and that would give you a little more power and drivability.
Same here bud, I am going to use the FMU that is coming with my Vortech and I ma running 24s, what other mods do you have
Still having idle issues. Seems like there is a vacuum leak but i have checked all hoses.... I think. Im going to run an air fuel meter and vacuum gauge. What does a motor with a blower, heads and E cam usually show for for vacuum? What about the air fuel at W.O.T?
my idle is dead even at about 750 and i pull 12-13 mmHg. i think stock is about 15.... thats what i read somewhere, dont quote me.
i think he was refering to vaccum readings. and my car with TFS heads f-cam and intake makes about 12-12in at idle.....
