need some tech help

i bought an 87 lx 4 banger original, has an 88 302 and the trans blew, but would shift strong until the OD then would slip, got an 83 AOD same thing is happening, good shifts til OD then it feels like it is in N, slips constantly, electronics were not switched as far as i know( electrical is jacked up too) so i am not sure what the deal is i didn't put any of these components in
