Never had a 2bl. carb so when I go full throttle >

there's only a quick kickdown and no transition like a 4 barrel. Car is stock C code with C-4.Have owned for one month but never needed to go anymore then half throttle. Is this normal for a stock 289 with 2 barrel .BTW if a 4 bl. is running on the primary first then what is 2 br. doing just opening the primaries more(more throttle more primary) at kickdown? It just seems so abrupt. Like on /off. I know this might sound like a weird question but everything I've owned in the sixties had a 4 bl. so no reference here . Read the manual but trying to understand the dynamics of a 2br..under load. Hell maybe it's the trans kicking down that gives me the whip lash. LOL Thanks -Doug

The secondaries on a 4V are opened by increasing flow through the primaries,
on vacuum secondary carbs like the 4100. With a 2V, it's straight throttle. I never have any trouble going full throttle with a 2V, perhaps your linkage or kickdown are not adjusted properly.
