New '05 Pics

Wow, thats so cheap looking. Ugh

I have to agree... the interior photos that were released by Ford look incredible. Those close-ups show huge gaps between the dashboard panels, umatched grey tones (radio, around radio, the verticle and horizontal portions of the center console), and ridiculous "Mustang" silkscreen logos on the seats? Even the plastic quality looks cheap. :bang: What are you thinking, Ford???

I'm impressed by some of the newer GM models' interiors (check out the Malibu, it's a lame car but very well executed compared to previous US cars). I had hoped that Ford would follow suit with the Mustang, and I guess we'll have to see what actually is released to the public. I only hope that the quality of the interior in those photos is indicative of pre-production. Otherwise the spirit of my '98 Mustang will live on in the next all new generation of Mustang.

edit - thanks for the pictures. :)

Don't worry, the interior looks better in person than the photos. I could think of several ways to improve the 05 interior, but overall it's a lot better than the 99-04 interior.

I don't know why everyone gets so worked up about interiors. As long as they are good ergonomically I'm happy. A little "style" goes a long way--the Mini and Audi TT interiors make me ill. Give me an old school muscle car interior any day. I'd like the base black interior with as little chrome as possible. The only real failure on this interior is the center console, which just looks cheap. And I really didn't mind the looks of the 95+ interiors, it was just the seats on most models were kind of funky.

damn you friggin couch experts. this is a pre-production vehicle.
besides, in person and sitting in it, they are exceptional interiors. hold a camera to any of your interiors and prepare to scream. a comment about interiors from GMdude, that's just funny. GM, master of exposed interior fasteners.

Thanks for the pics. The Silver '05s are the best looking. Some of those pictures need to be rotated though. My neck hurts now from trying to view them properly.

What's with the Rainbow dots?

Hmmm...

I actually think the GT engine looks more interesting with the cover off of the intake. On second thought, maybe a little too much like a GM LS1. :D Hope it runs like one too.

I know the interiors on GM vehicles are cheap too, my 93 Grand prix, and my 2 pontiac fiero's justify that. I just wish for once that they would just make it a little bit better, not saying Ford specifically, but GM, Chrysler, etc., etc. You'd get much better if you bought a real expensive car, but in all honestly, it probably will ONLY cost Ford $10,000 or less to build a fully loaded 2005 GT, think about it folks, thats why cars are so "cheap" in quality these days, slacking on quality, and charging an arm and a leg for a car, that shouldn't be worth more than $15,000 (2005 Mustang in General) Sure I still love the Stang, and I'll admit I love GM too, everyone knows that if they see my name, but these cars are so cheap, it just boggles my mind how they can actually get people to buy them.

I hope you're right. I am so pumped to replace my '98 v6 with an '05 GT, I just hope that the interior lives up to the rest of the car. I already told my friend that when (if) I get one, after the engine is broken in I'm going to smoke his '04 s2000. :nice:
