OK well I ran more then 11 times,I have 11 timeslips, but I might have runmoreand not have the others, but my best run of the day wasthelast run. I finally learned how to launch on these tires, I had them at 30 psi, and got them nice and hot and it hooked(Falken Ziex 512). It was a 14.6@96.65 w/ a 2.208 60ft. Anyway, it was me Slow95GT and BKCauley that went. Cauley brought his PI headed GT and had a best of 14.4 something. I'll let himtell about it. But I am gonna upload some vidsin a second and they'll be up. There are somefunny ass ones in there too
Thats the best I could pull with these tires, and thats good considering I had a 2 2.7s Josh didn't bring his car, he rode with BK
I would have thought he would have brought it considering all the smack he talks. The best 60ft I've had on street tires was a 1.9. I probably could have knocked it down a little but on those particular tires I only got one run in.
I cut a 1.90 60 on the same tires on a well prepped track and a 2.0 at a ok one. Your mods are very similar to mine, just I had a bigger intake. You are a vert though too. I'll say theres a little more time left in the car the way it sits, ya just gotta get more seat time in it. Best I ran with a intake, gears, and full exhaust was a 13.8 @99. Not trying to be a dick or anything, just trying to give you a baseline, as our cars are different and seperate tracks too.
very good IMO for a convertible, with stock heads and cam. go back with a good tires, get that 60' down to 1.8/1.9 you should pull a nice high 13
Thanks, my vert weighed less than Cauleys SN95. Oh and there was this kid there with an 05/07 V6 with a procharger. It was a nice car but that spoiled lil rich was only runnin a 13.8... someppl have more money then sense, put that into a V8 and see what it runs...
Oh and the hilarious vid gotdeleted some how,we taped over it. But as a recap Cauleywasn't hooking for ****so josh rode with him and added some weight, he ran a 14.4, when they cameback around they werelike hop in this **** we're gonna get it to hook. So me and Josh were sitting in the back of his coupe ducking down so the officials wouldn'tsee. It was funny as hell, I look over when keith launched at josh and his tall asswith his head pressed against the seat, funniest thing I have seen in a while. Then the girl at the timeslip box was like you can only have one pass.and they said that we were filming from the end of the track and he picked us up lmao good times...
The best 60' i've ever ran was a 1.90 on half bald street tires...it does take tremendous concentration and it's a hit or miss thing. If you blow it on the 60' then you can kiss your ET goodbye.
lol yeah,I spun BAD on one run and I just rode it out and ran a 19 lol with a 2.7 60ft Oh the funniest thing ever I tried to get it so I didn't havemuch gas, well that was a mistake,b/c I was running an integra and at the 1/8milemy mph was a 73.4, my car ran out of gas lmao. I got it started back up and I ran the 1/4 mile at 73.6 Then I went and got gas and went back(BIG MISTAKE) I put 20 bucks in and I ran about 5 more runs. Leaving the track I had 1/4 of a tank and 140 miles to go with absolutely NO money. It took me 5 hrs to get home...
That's your first mistake. They're street tires, they aren't meant to be run hot. In the future, skip the smokey burn outs and give em no more than a quick spin (1-2 seconds) just to clean off the treads. When you heat up street radials, they get greasy....and you end up with crappy 60ft times because of it.
See for me it always works best to spin them just enough to make them squeel and just START to smoke....but no more. And avoid the water altogether.
That's what you want....if they're squealing, that means they're not all that hot. It's when they stop making noise and bellow smoke out of the inner quarter panels that they've been overcooked. I forgot to mention it, but good point about the water box. Racers should save the water for the guys running drag radials or slicks who actually need to heat the tires up.
Running at the track on street tires is like running a foot race in flip-flops. Get some slicks and watch your times shrink.
While i do agree with that if you're looking for all out ET performance, i like to see what my car is capable of in true street trim...in case i have a run in with the competition
